Construction
The background design of Hardtop, Ultathin mats and Mousecards™ can be specially printed to give an unusual and attractive metallic sheen in gold or silver. This is particularly effective for designs printed four colour process.
Foam
Black 3mm 'EPDM' foam is standard. The extra thickness offered by chunky 5mm foam used to be popular. New production techniques now mean that 1.5mm and 2mm EPDM foam can be used to make much slimmer mats. A limited range of other colours is available but the colours are dull and expensive.
Black natural rubber foam in 1.5mm, 3mm and 5mm offers a heavier alternative with the very best lay-flat and non-slip qualities.
Print
Screen print or offset litho four colour process. The print is placed directly on to the under-surface of the mark resist material.
Packaging
Usually bulk packed. Mats 200mm x 235mm can be individually packed in clear polypropylene self seal bags or in white envelopes which can be custom printed.

200mm x 235mm (the most popular)
200mm x 260mm
200mm diameter circle.
200mm x 235mm ellipse.
A3 desk/counter mat 297mm x 420mm
A2 desk/counter mat 420mm x 595mm
Other sizes and special shapes can be made without difficulty, although there are costs for the cutting.
Recommendations
Mats with the thinner 'EPDM' foam or the 1.5mm natural rubber foam can look very stylish.
